Sentenced for encouraging spam

Alternative medicine advocate Kevin Trudeau has for long been involved in situations with the American justice, regarding the natural cures he claims to have found for problems like hair loss and obesity. Apparently, his case is further away from being resolved.

In February, Trudeau encouraged his followers to send e-mails in his support to Judge Robert W. Gettleman, who was overseeing the case. However, Trudeau stepped back, asking his readers to stop sending mails, and apologized. It was not enough.

Judge Gettleman received many e-mails, making his computer and Smartphone unusable. Event though Trudeau apologized, the Judge considered him to be acting in contempt of court, and sentenced him to 30 days in prison and a fine.

So far, Trudeau hasn’t spent a moment in jail. It’s still being discussed whether contempt of court can occur outside the court’s physical boundaries or not.
